Plough Sunday Service
27th January 2019
With thanks to Thorrington Red Lion Public house again, this year the plough Sunday service was well attended.
With 20 people attending, Rev Pauline Hart leading the service with hymns, readings, prayers and a sermon from churchwarden, John Jinks, who works on the local farm, telling a very interning story of how a ploughman see’s the plough as doing God’s work in the fields.
After a few hymns, off to the car park where a tractor and plough where waiting to be blessed, kindly lent by Gibbon farms.
Rev Hart blessed the plough for it work in the year ahead and the last hymn (We plough the fields and scatter) was sung around the plough and ending with a blessing.
