The Tenpenny Villages Benefice of Alresford, Elmstead and Frating with Thorrington

Children and Young People in the

Tenpenny Villages Benefice

Children and young people are welcomed as important and valued members of our St Andrew’s church community.  They are both welcome at our services and also take part in our worship as readers, through drama & music and more recently as enthusiastic puppeteers during our All-age Worship!

Most of the work with children and young people is at St Andrew’s, but children from Alresford, Elmstead, Frating & Thorrington are all welcome.  Messy Church runs at both St Andrew’s and St Anne & St Laurence.

Our new Tuesday Tots group is a delightful friendly space for expectant mums and mums with babies to meet and make new friends.  There is always a listening ear and someone ready to make cups of coffee, as well as play with the babies to give you a break!  It meets in The Hub on Tuesdays in term time from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon.

On the first Sunday in the month at 11.00 am is All-age Worship at St Andrew’s and on the other Sundays there is our Children’s Group in the Hub after the first part of the service in church, returning at the end.  For smaller children there is a Crèche just off the main worship area where parents and carers can take the under 3s if they wish, and where the service is relayed so that they don’t miss out.

Currently, our Youth Group, for secondary aged children, meets monthly on Zoom, led by our Curate Rev Tim Solosy. We will be reviewing our provision for our youth as it has not been possible to meet in person during the pandemic.
